GE, the biggest maker of wind turbines in the U.S., filed a new patent infringement lawsuit against Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and plans to appeal an earlier case it lost.
The new complaint, filed in federal court in Dallas, claims Mitsubishi Heavy infringes two patents. One is related to the base frame supporting the weight of the rotor and the other covers a way to keep the turbine connected to the electricity grid even when the voltage drops. GE seeks a court order to block further use of its inventions, plus cash compensation.

Caterpillar Inc. announced that United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) renewed its call for Caterpillar to end its business in Iran.

Sprint Nextel Corp. said RealNetworks Inc. will take over distribution of Sprint’s music-related products and services, including the sale of songs, ringtones and ringback tones to wireless customers. Seattle-based RealNetworks, which sells music, video, messaging and other services to 86 wireless providers globally, plans to provide the content through a unified online store, rather than with a series of sites, as Sprint now distributes the content

Boeing (BA)

The Electronic Systems Center achieved the next step toward upgrading France's fleet of Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft with the recent award of a $324 million contract to the Boeing Company.
The change to Block 40/45 takes the AWACS fleet from large legacy mainframe computer architecture to more modern Windows- and Unix-based mission computing. Improved situational awareness and combat identification capabilities are two of the benefits of the upgrade.

Boeing (BA)

Brazilian airline GOL (Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA GOL) is planning to buy nine airplanes from Boeing for about $600 million, the company's chief executive, Constantino de Oliveira Jr. said in an interview published Thursday in the local financial newspaper Valor Economico.
The executive, however, did not unveil an exact timetable for the purchase.
