JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU), announces today the decision to not move its corporate headquarters to Orlando and keep its headquarters in New York City. JetBlue will combine the current Forest Hills, NY and Darien, CT corporate offices, with nearly 1,000 crewmembers and business partners in total, into one main support center to be located in Long Island City, Queens. In addition, recognizing JetBlue as New York's Hometown Airline, JetBlue and New York State will begin joint branding of the world-recognized I Love NY logo, an unprecedented partnership with the State's iconic brand.
"After an exhaustive study to determine the best location for our corporate offices, we have decided that remaining in our hometown of New York makes the most sense for our company" said Dave Barger, JetBlue Chief Executive Officer. "JetBlue's plans to invest millions directly into New York's economy will create more jobs and provide more opportunities for all New Yorkers" said Governor David Paterson.

JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) today announces an increase from two to four daily nonstop flights from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) beginning July 1, 2010, providing more options and more value to coast-to-coast travelers. In addition to its LAX service, JetBlue offers the only nonstop service from the East Coast to two other L.A. Basin airports: Burbank and Long Beach.
JetBlue and other LCC, low cost carriers, continue to take market share from the legacy carriers. Being more nimble and operating with a defined fleet, that is a single manufacturer and type, JetBlue can provide superior service with greater profit per available seat mile.

The main runway at New York's John F. Kennedy International will be closed for four months starting March 1. Millions of travelers will experience delays — including some not flying anywhere near New York City. JetBlue, American, Delta and other airlines have cut their schedules by about 10 percent for the shutdown period. JetBlue and its competitors are contemplating raising prices because there will be a smaller number of seats to meet demand.
JFK's longest runway, at 14,572 feet, is one of the longest commercial runways in the world. It's a backup landing spot for the space shuttle, which has its next mission in April. The runway is being repaved with concrete instead of less-durable asphalt and widened to accommodate today's bigger planes such as the new Airbus A380.

JetBlue Airways Looses Appeal Over Age Gender Retaliation Claim. On Friday the U.S. Court Of Appeals For The Second Circuit ruled in favor of Diane Gorzynski, a former customer service supervisor with JetBlue who accused the airline of age and gender bias, creating a hostile work environment, and firing her in retaliation for complaining back in 2002, according to AvStop.com.
The U.S. Court Of Appeals For The Second Circuit stated that Gorzynski had produced ample evidence of mistreatment based on claims that she suffered a hostile work environment, age discrimination, and retaliation for complaints of race and age discrimination.
