Expedia today reported third quarter profit of $117 million, or 40 cents a share, up from $94.8 million, or 33 cents a share, a year earlier. Excluding items such as restructuring costs and foreign-exchange losses, earnings climbed to 48 cents from 39 cents. Revenue increased 2% to $852.4 million.

AutoNation posted a profit of $65 million, or 36 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $1.41 billion, or $7.99 a share.
Revenue decreased 13% to $2.92 billion.
AutoNation said its massive cost-cutting phase is ending and the company will now focus on growing the business.

Garmin shares plunged 18 percent after its Dutch rival TomTom (TOM2.AS) warned of falling selling prices and Google (GOOG.O) made a high-profile entry into the market.
"Google's announcement today introduces new challenges for both Garmin and TomTom and makes the threat from smartphones more real than it ever was before," analyst Yair Reiner of Oppenheimer & Co told Reuters.

BorgWarner today reported third quarter net income was $17.2 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, compared with a loss of $130.4 million, or $(1.12) per diluted share, in third quarter 2008. For the third quarter 2009, sales were $1,027.8 million, down 22.0% compared with $1,316.9 million in the third quarter 2008.
Company's CEO said firm continues to be cautiously optimistic about the fourth quarter.

Jones Apparel Group, whose brands include Jones New York, Nine West and Anne Klein, said for the third quarter period ended Oct. 3 earnings rose to $29 .1 million, or 36 cents per share, from $26.8 million, or 33 cents per share, last year.
Profit levels surprised Wall Street on the positive side. The company said its third quarter revenue fell 11 percent, to $855.7 million from $964.7 million last year.

Wyndham Worldwide Corp. reported that third quarter net income dropped 27 percent to $104 million, or 57 cents a share, from $142 million, or 80 cents, a year earlier. Revenue declined 17 percent to $1.02 billion.
The company raised its forecast for full-year adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to between $775 million and $825 million from its earlier forecast of between $760 million and $810 million. Revenue will be $3.5 billion to $3.9 billion.

Interpublic earned $17.2 million, or 3 cents a share, for the third quarter, down from $38.7 million, or 8 cents a share, in the same quarter of 2008. Revenue dropped 18% to $1.43 billion.
The important measure to an advertising company, organic revenue was down 14 percent, excluding currency fluctuations and the impact of acquisitions/divestitures.
