The unit, which was shut on Oct. 19 for refueling, was operating at 16% of capacity on Friday.

Entergy remains committed to spinning off five of its nuclear power plants into a stand-alone company, but the company's CEO suggested a possible alternative Tuesday if it can't win regulatory approval in New York.
Entergy Chairman and Chief Executive J. Wayne Leonard said the company could spin off its utility businesses into a stand-alone company to accomplish the same goal of separating its regulated utility businesses concentrated in the Southeast from its nuclear plants that sell power at market prices. "We don't expect to go down that route, but it is a path to get you back to where you were. It just takes us longer and (requires) more regulatory approvals," said Leonard, speaking at the Edison Electric Institute's financial conference in Florida.

Entergy said it has agreed to acquire the 580-megawatt Acadia 2 natural gas-fired unit near Eunice, Louisiana, from independent Acadia Power Partners LLP.
The combined-cycle unit, completed in 2002, becomes one of the most efficient gas-fired units in Entergy Louisiana's fleet and will help lower the utility's fuel costs, Entergy said in a release.

Entergy Louisiana's 669,000 customers could face a bill of $208.9 million if state utility regulators agree with the company's plan to scuttle the Little Gypsy power plant conversion in southeastern Louisiana.
Touted only two years ago by the utility and regulators as a major cost-saver for electricity customers, the combination of much-lower natural gas prices and the uncertainty of future carbon legislation led to the project's three-year suspension by the Public Service Commission in April.

Entergy expressed disappointment in the city of Conroe, Texas’ decision to join the city of Beaumont, Texas in its lawsuit against the company over what it claims is a “staggering” amount of overbilling.
Entergy issued a statement Tuesday saying, “First, we stand by our position that we strongly disagree with the allegations made in the lawsuit, second, we are deeply disappointed that Conroe chose to take this action without having approached Entergy Texas to discuss the issue.” the statement reads.
