ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) has been awarded a $19.3 million delivery order from the U.S. Army’s Research Development & Engineering Command Acquisition Center under the OMNI VII contract for AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular devices – ITT’s most popular and utilized night vision goggle. Eighty percent of these goggles are destined for the U.S. Air Force with the remaining quantities for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.

Boeing President Walt Skowronski announced today that he will retire from the company at the end of the year.
Boeing has named Mike Cave to Skowronski's leadership role, effective January 1, reporting to Corporate President and Chief Financial Officer James Bell.
Beginning today, Cave will assume the role of deputy to Skowronski to ensure a smooth transition of customer and investor relationships. Shep Hill will assume Cave's responsibilities as senior vice president of Business Development and Strategy, while retaining his role as President, Boeing International.

GE announced today third-quarter 2009 earnings from continuing operations of $2.5 billion, or $0.22 per share, including the effect of $0.05 in restructuring and other charges, down 51% from the third quarter of 2008. Revenues fell 20% to $37.8 billion.

Boeing on Thursday received a $21.8 million engineering project contract from the Air Force.
The Air Force contract is for engineering development models for a network system that will provide secure and universal information exchange.

Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) today reported a third quarter Net loss of $16 million, or $.02 loss per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $120 million, or $.16 loss per diluted share, for third quarter 2008. Third quarter 2009 results included special items (net of profitsharing and taxes) consisting of a charge of $27 million relating to the Company's early-out program and a net loss of $12 million, relating to non-cash, mark-to-market and other items associated with a portion of the Company's fuel hedge portfolio.
Q3 operating revenues were 2,666,000 vs. 2,891,000 in last year's comparable period, a decrease of 7.8.

GE today announced investment stakes in SolarEdge, an Israeli startup, and Tendril, a Boulder, Colorado startup, as part of a strategy for business to generate and use energy more efficiently.
SolarEdge owns a technology which allows solar panels to operate 25% more efficiently. Tendril produces equipment that allows consumers and utilities to communicate and run equipment at more efficient times of the day thereby lowering costs. GE did not disclose the size of its investment.
