Gulfstream International Group Inc (GIA)

Gulfstream International Group Inc. (AMEX: GIA) said it had been held in default by its principal aircraft lessor, Raytheon Aircraft Credit Corp. (RACC), but later met a Feb. 19 deadline, averting other potential defaults, according to an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, reported by CitybizlistBoston. Gulfstream said it is reviewing nonbinding offers of short-term debt financing to meet near-term liquidity requirements. It also has hired an investment bank to raise fresh capital from sale of equity.
The Fort Lauderdale-based airline leases 21 Beech 1900D aircraft from Wichita, Kansas based RACC, a subsidiary of Raytheon Corp. (NYSE: RTN), headquartered in Waltham, Mass. The default on two agreements, signed in 2003 and 2006, occurred when it missed scheduled February payments.

China Eastern Airlines (CEA)

China Eastern Airlines Corp. (NYSE:CEA), the nation’s second-largest carrier, denied a media report saying it’s seeking to sell a 20 percent stake to investors in the Middle East and Europe. “There’s no such plan,” Board Secretary Luo Zhuping said today, denying an Emirates Business report. He declined to comment on whether the carrier had resumed talks with Singapore Airlines Ltd. on a share sale.
China Eastern is on the look out for strategic investors in the Middle East and Europe, Emirates Business said today, citing Xu Zhao, Chief Financial Officer of parent China Eastern Air Holding Co. The Shanghai-based carrier failed to sell a 24 percent stake to Singapore Air and its parent in 2008. China Eastern is “actively seeking a strategic investor” and would like to find a partner this year, President Ma Xulun said. In addition, China Eastern Airlines is in advanced talks with AMR Corp (NYSE:AMR), American Airlines parent to bring it into the Oneworld alliance, AMR's Chief Financial Officer Tom Horton said on Wednesday.

Boeing (BA)

A third airplane has joined the Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight-test program. ZA004, the fourth flight-test airplane to be built, took off at 11:43 a.m. local time from Paine Field in Everett, WA.
The program plan called for ZA004 to fly before ZA003 because the data ZA004 is collecting is needed more quickly both for certification and development of the 787-9. "Airplane No. 4 operated flawlessly today," Captain Heather Ross said after landing. "We've got a lot of work ahead of us but I can't imagine a better start to the flight test program for this airplane."
