Republic Services reported for the full year 2009 earnings of $495 million, or $1.30 per share, on sales of $8.199 billion. That compares to the prior year earnings of $73 million, or $.38 per share, on sales of $3.685 billion.
"We are pleased to report that we have exceeded our original 2009 guidance for
earnings, free cash flow and margins," said James E. O'Connor, Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of Republic Services, Inc. "We achieved annual run
rate synergy savings of $150 million, well ahead of our plan. During 2009,
we repaid $740 million of our debt. We also took advantage of the favorable
interest rate environment by issuing $1.25 billion of new debt and using the
proceeds to repay existing debt. Our strong operational and financial
performance during 2009 has left us well positioned for future success, as
evidenced by our double digit 2010 earnings growth guidance."

Donnelley & Sons announced the introduction of its iCOMPLi iPhone mobile application. iCOMPLi is part of RR Donnelley's suite of mobile applications developed for broker/dealers, financial advisors and mutual fund and variable annuity companies. Designed to help financial services providers comply with SEC regulations, iCOMPLi enhances RR Donnelley's proprietary RightProspectus(R) document repository to offer a convenient way to distribute and track the delivery and receipt of printed and e-mail versions of investor communications, including summary and statutory prospectuses and Statements of Additional Information (SAIs).
The iCOMPLi iPhone mobile application allows access to the RightProspectus document repository, which contains more than 23,000 share class documents. Using the resident e-mail application, a link can be sent from the repository to the client, with all aspects of the communication tracked for reporting and auditing. The RightProspectus document repository platform's e-delivery capabilities provide a value-added, closed-loop pre-sales process to assist with client follow up, potentially leading to increased revenue. The platform offers significant cost saving opportunities and enables RR Donnelley to serve the entire life cycle of prospectus delivery.

Ryder has announced it has signed a joint venture partnership with Cargo Services Far East Limited, an Asia-based logistics solutions provider specializing in export consolidation services.

Jacobs Engineering (JEC)
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional, and construction services, announced that it received a contract from ExxonMobil Production Company to provide construction services for ExxonMobil's enhanced oil and gas recovery project at the Hawkins Field in Wood County, Texas, about 100 miles east of Dallas.
Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2010. Project start-up is anticipated in late 2011.
